V.S. Raja is Emeritus Fellow at the Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, INDIA. He was the Institute Chair Professor (2010-2023). He taught several advanced courses on corrosion. His research cover understanding the structure-corrosion property relation, environmentally assisted cracking, localized corrosion, and high temperature corrosion.

Supervised 37 PhD and 125 Master’s students, published over 180 papers in journals and book chapter. Lead editor of the book Stress Corrosion Cracking: Theory and Practice (Woodhead) and Coauthor of the book Corrosion Failure Analysis: Basics, Case Studies and Solutions (Wiley).

Recipient of several awards including

He is an elected Fellow of NACE International (AMPP), ASM International, Indian Institute of Metals, and Electrochemical Society of India. President of International Corrosion Council (2024-27).
